Responsibilities

As Chief Global Mobility Officer, Michelle is primarily responsible for overseeing the international operations and regional offices of NEI.  This includes the international service delivery and ensuring compliance with clients’ contracts and service level commitments.   Her role also includes managing the financial risks of NEI. She is involved in the financial planning and reporting to the executive management committee, serving as the principle financial advisor. She also oversees all of NEI’s accounting activities to assure the financial integrity and proper execution of accounting practices.

Experience

Michelle has been with NEI since 1996 in a number of varied roles across the organization with increasing responsibilities. She joined the organization after several years as an auditor with Deloitte where she led auditing teams for large financial services clients. Prior to becoming Chief Global Mobility Officer at NEI, Michelle was the Chief Financial Officer. She has also held the position of Vice President of Operations for four years.

With her knowledge and experience in corporate mobility, accounting and compliance, Michelle supports the interfacing of the relocation processes from initial transition to annual reviews. Michelle has also overseen the SSAE 16 report with no findings in its first year.  She has managed many successful relocation audits from the IRS and corporate auditors.

Michelle attended the University of Nebraska, earning her undergraduate and master’s degrees. She is a Chartered Global Management Accountant, Certified Public Account and holds a Master of Professional Accountancy. Michelle is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Nebraska Society of Certified Public Accountants. She has also volunteered on community finance boards for nonprofit organizations.
