NEI Global Relocation was honored to present three awards to Service Partner companies who best demonstrated corporate responsibility in the areas of Community Service, Philanthropic Activity, Environmental Sustanability, and Corporate Governance. This award is a self-nominating category and entries are then reviewed by the awards committee.
Listed below is a very brief explanation as to why this year's winners of the NEI Corporate Responsibility Awards were selected:
- In the philanthropic category, NEI recognized the efforts of Harry Norman, REALTORS, whose employees participated in various fund-raising activities for C.U.R.E. Childhood Cancer fund in Atlanta, Georgia. Agents voluntarily sign up to have a portion of every commission from every closing donated to C.U.R.E. To date, they have raised more than $100,000, making Harry Norman, REALTORS a major donor for this organization.
- In the area of Community Service, Baird & Warner Residential Sales, Inc. was recognized for supporting a day-long charity event in the Chicago area where 5,000 volunteers worked at 30 different locations around the city. Through charitable contributions and ongoing volunteering, Baird & Warner has donated more than $2.2 million company wide.
- As environmental stewardship rises in public awareness, New World Van Lines, Inc. is challenging its employees to charge forward with its "Green for Good" initiative. As of 2017, 158,545 tons of materials have been recycled and over 500 pallets have been reused.
"When we were setting up our Service Partner awards program, we felt very strongly that we should include a category for corporate social responsibility," said Kate Dodge, NEI President. "In addition to its inherent value, corporate outreach to the community provides internal leadership opportunities and we want to recognize our Service Partners who mirror NEI's values and commitment to the communities were we live and work."
