The final general session on Wednesday was a small group workshop on designing programs for specific situations with the goals to be flexible, customized, low-cost, fast, and hassle free. Margaret Bonitz and Amy Ballinger, NEI Client Relations Managers, led the session. Margaret began with a brief description of how to determine the company value of various relocation types, such as an entry level person versus critical talent.
Each table discussed solutions for three separate scenarios, which were presented and discussed separately, including: 1) attracting critical new hires to remote areas, 2) a group move of hi-tech individuals from a large west coast city to relocate to a small southeastern college town, and 3) the creation of a one-off international relocation package that would attract a critical executive candidate to the company.
Guests exchanged ideas to better prepare themselves for potential future situations where they may be asked to design a special relocation package.
