NEI Global Relocation (NEI), was named as this year’s winner of the Baird Holm LLP and the Institute for Career Advancement Needs (ICAN), Best Places to Work for the Advancement of Women award.
This is the fifth year that the award has been presented to recognize a local company that has effectively created a culture that attracts, retains and advances women in the workplace.
NEI’s mission of "Service Exceeding Expectations," has not only impacted the quality of client services, but also the creation of an exceptional training program that supports internal promotion and advancement.
"NEI Global Relocation is a great example of an organization that understands the importance of attracting talent and retaining it," said Kelli Lieurance, partner at Baird Holm LLP. "Through in-depth training, leadership and mentorship programs, NEI creates an environment where all employees—not just women—advance and thrive. These programs, coupled with NEI's preference to promote from within, show why it is not just a woman-owned business, but a woman-led one as well."
Established in 1985 by Kate Dodge and Randy Wilson, NEI has grown to serve clients all over the world with 70% of its top level and 80% of its mid-level management teams being women.
“It is an honor for all of us at NEI to receive this recognition and we thank Baird Holm and ICAN, both of whom have established reputations for excellence in the Omaha business community and beyond,” said Kate Dodge, President of NEI Global Relocation. “The growth of our company has been synonymous with the growth of our people and it has been exciting and rewarding to have been part of this growth over the last 29 years.”
NEI employees participate in ongoing, formal classroom training as well as one-on-one training, including intercultural programs, client seminars, cross-departmental training and communication development. NEI recognizes that flexibility is key to retaining and advancing talented women, focusing on flexible solutions such as non-traditional scheduling, transition plans and job-sharing to retain such talent.
“ICAN is proud to be partnering with Baird Holm LLP for the fifth year to honor and celebrate a company that is making tremendous strides in advancing their female employees," said ICAN Director of Programs, Amy McLaughlin. "NEI Global Relocation is a fantastic example of a company that has made strategic efforts to advance and promote women, and we are thrilled to be presenting them with this award at the ICAN Women’s Leadership Conference on April 9, 2014.”
NEI was also named as the first place winner for the 2014 Best Places to Work in Omaha in the large company category.
